uwe Muench

Uwe was born and raised in Germany. He became a follower of Christ during his doctoral studies at the University of Missouri in 2000. After graduating with a PhD in physics in 2002, Uwe has been involved with campus ministry in Missouri, at UCLA and USC, and in Oklahoma for over 20 years. Uwe married his wife, Andrea, in 2014 and he is a proud father of his son, Lothar.

Uwe has visited Haiti over 30 times. Seeing widespread poverty for the first time on his first Haiti trip in 2002, he studied and reflected how to alleviate poverty and help the marginalized in sustainable ways, using his background in physics to research and organize effective projects in Haiti and around the world. Uwe has been on mission trips to his home country of Germany, other European countries, Vietnam, and he is looking forward to encounter more countries and continents. He likes to encounter different cultures and find ways to point them to Jesus.

Uwe is currently project researcher for Hope Beyond Borders and liaison to our partner organizations. He serves wherever he can and where his skill sets, such as administration and teaching, advance the cause.
