Theo’s Place is the operations center for Hope Beyond Borders in Fond Doux, Haiti.

Our desire is to use this place as a lighthouse to bring hope, joy, and liberty to the community and beyond. It is a place for training, learning, growth, renewal, and replication for all people. We have served people for over 20 years together and have seen many results. We will see even more wonderful things together over the next 20 years!

Hope shines through as a great light and gives way to life. In the face of increasingly difficult and big challenges, our commitment remains to help make life better for people.

Impact International Institute of Haiti

Since September 2023, Hope Beyond Borders has partnered with Impactful Missions to host their school within Theo’s Place. Currently, the school serves 48 students in 4 classes, providing meals daily and jobs for 17 teachers and staff.

This school is making quality education accessible to all.

The school's vision is to add another class each year so that the children can grow with the school. Plans for expansion and greater property infrastructure are underway.

Infrastructure Plans

The needs of the community are substantial. To serve the people to a greater measure we must expand our facilities.

Our plans include more housing for mission teams and staff, a renovated/dedicated kitchen, a large community gathering place protected from the elements, more classrooms for the school, utility improvements, and renovations of an existing bakery.

Some of these developments will utilize existing buildings and others will be new structures. With increased physical capacity, we can multiply our impact. These projects will provide short-term and long-term Haitian jobs, provide a safe place for kids to go to school, and be a place for outstanding leadership training.

Power sources

Power sources “off the grid” are essential. We need to replace and increase the number of batteries and solar panels in our system.

Theo’s Place needs a powerful generator, the space to house it, and more supplies to increase the electrical capacity and to meet the power demands. We need one that is large enough to pump water from the well to the reservoir and power multiple buildings at the same time.

Transportation

Theo’s Place needs a large vehicle, SUV or van; one that can transport supplies and resources as well as teams of people traveling to/from Fond Doux. The rugged, mountainous terrain requires the type of vehicle that will have longevity. It must be able to navigate the poor roads, weather conditions, road washouts, and sporadic roadblocks.
