FEED FOND DOUX

Change the future- one meal at a time!

Sister & Brother

History

Team with displaced family

For more than 20 years our team has been volunteering in the village of Fond Doux, Haiti. We deliver essential supplies and food to people in need. We help widows, orphans, the elderly, refugees, families in crisis, the sick and injured, and those facing a myriad of difficult situations.

We do not want a child to have to wonder where their next meal will come from, but that’s a harsh reality most in Fond Doux are facing. With our help, people can find relief and energy to focus on other tasks.

Feeding families is a top priority– together, we can feed more people!

Haiti in crisis

Gangs are ruling the streets of the Capital and beyond. Since the assassination of the President in 2021, the government of Haiti has been in shambles. People live in fear of the constant terror brought on by gang attacks with many fleeing their homes in the city to find refuge in rural areas like Fond Doux.

Violence and extortion have disrupted the transport of basic supplies and food- making an already bad situation even worse. What once was difficult has become nearly impossible. Food prices have skyrocketed to unheard of levels leaving people feeling helpless.

The Stats

2024 Stats

According to the World Food Programme (WFP) in June 2024, 4.35 million people in Haiti suffer from acute hunger. The UN reports that almost half of the population of Haiti is experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity. Haiti has been elevated to the highest concern level along with Sudan, Burkino Faso, and Mali.
